Healthy Tomato Sauce

Are you looking for an easy way to incorporate the gut healing properties of bone broth into your child\'s daily diet?

Well, we have the solution for you!

What child (or adult for that matter) doesn’t love a good squeeze of tomato sauce? Our homemade version incorporates a concentrated dose of bone broth disguised in a delicious tangy tomato sauce.

We love to serve this tomato sauce with some crispy oven fries.

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 500ml Restore beef bone broth
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion (finely diced)
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 bottle of passata
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 bay leaf
Using a large heavy bottomed saucepan, heat the olive oil.

Gently sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.

Add the remaining ingredients and bring to the boil.

Lower the heat and allow the liquid to reduce and thicken.

This may take 30 - 40 minutes.

Remove the bay leaf and allow to cool before blending to a smooth consistency using a high-powered blender.

This sauce will keep in the fridge for up to one week.
